Dee Bell

Coach Bell has been at Olathe West since it opened in 2017, helping start the track program as its head coach.  He began his coaching career at Olathe East high school where he coached football and track for one year.  After that, he was hired at Olathe Northwest where he was the head track coach for 4 years and an assistant for one.  In his time at Olathe Northwest, the girl's team placed second in the state 2 years in a row.  In 2016, he was named the 6A Track Coach of the Year by the Kansas Coaches Association. Coach Bell played football at Kansas State University. He is a graduate of Olathe East and helped the Hawks win a state championship in track as a player and coach. He is also the school's all-time leader in rushing yards. Coach Bell lives in Olathe with his wife, Sabrina, and daughter, Raleigh.

Kelsey Carbajo

Kelsey Carbajo has been at Olathe West since it opened in 2017 after 2 years at Olathe Northwest. She also teaches Resource in the Special Education Department. She is currently the Head Cross Country Coach at Olathe West. In 2017, she was named Assistant Track Coach of the Year while coaching hurdles at Olathe Northwest. Kelsey is a graduate of Spring Hill High School where she was a multi-sport athlete competing in volleyball, cross country, basketball, and track. She continued her academic and athletic career at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Macy Carbajo

Macy Carbajo attended Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa, where she graduated with a kinesiology degree. She is planning on furthering her education and getting a master’s degree in special education. She was a student coach in cross country and track for Grand View the past two years. Ms. Carbajo was also the head volleyball coach for Iowa Christian Academy in 2016 and has coached volleyball for the past three years.

Jeff Zimmerman

Coach Zimmerman helped start the track program at Olathe West in 2017. He had been coaching track and field for 8 years before coming to West from Olathe Northwest High School.  He is a graduate of Piper High School and Emporia State University (2004) and teaches physical education with his wife Jennifer at Pioneer Trail Middle School.  They have two children Cade and Lucy.

Kraig Goerl

Kraig Goerl helped start the Olathe West track program, coming from Lansing High School.  Coach Goerl teaches math and coaches football, powerlifting, and track and field. In powerlifting, Coach Goerl helped the girls team to a powerlifting state championship and a runner-up finish. He attended Hutchinson Junior College where he ran track for a year before transferring to Benedictine College and completing his college career as a free safety on the football team. Prior to college, Coach Goerl ran track and played football at Buhler High School.

Todd Klamm

Todd Klamm joins the Olathe West Track coaching staff after teaching and coaching in the Shawnee Mission School District for four years and in Kansas City, Kansas for two years. In his second year at Olathe West, Coach Klamm coaches Cross Country for the Owls and is looking forward to the opportunity ahead to coach Track – high jump. Coach Klamm has a background in coaching Powerlifting, Baseball and Cross Country. Todd received his undergraduate degree from UMKC in Social Studies Education and his Masters from KU in Special Education.

Eric Kinney

Coach Kinney graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a degree in English with a concentration in Language and Rhetoric. Before coming to Olathe West, Coach Kinney was a coach and paraeducator in the Bonner Springs/Edwardsville school district. Coaching football for six years, girls basketball and middle school track for one. Helping send multiple athletes to the next level for athletics and academics. Coach graduated from Garden City High School where he played Football, Basketball and Track. Coach played junior college football for his hometown team Garden City Community College for two years. Coach Kinney coaches Football and Basketball at West as well. He lives with his fiance Jordan and son Jameson (3)

Lucas Vincent

Coach Vincent is coming to Olathe West after one year at Shawnee Mission East/Northwest where he was the head wrestling coach at East and taught EBD Special Education at Northwest. Coach Vincent finished his undergrad at The University of Missouri where is was a 4  varsity letter winner on the football team. Vincent had a brief stint in the NFL with the Tennessee Titan’s. Vincent also received his Master’s Degree in Special Education at Grand Canyon University. Vincent is a graduate of Olathe North where he won an individual wrestling state championship as well as a team championship in football. Vincent was selected to play in the O-D All- American Game, he was a Kansas Top-11 selection and a 2x 6A 1st Team All-State Selection. Coach Vincent lives in Roeland Park with his wife, Diana.

Ashley Admire

Coach Admire helped open the track program at Olathe West. Her primary responsibility is coaching javelin throwers, but also assists with discus and shot put. The first year for Owl throwers was successful and she looks forward to another year of major growth for the athletes.  Coach Admire's past coaching experiences include stops in Leavenworth, Piper, and Lawrence Free State coaching volleyball, basketball, and track. She has had the pleasure of coaching multiple state champions in track and basketball.  She attended high school in Ark City, KS where she was a 3-sport athlete. After high school she competed at Cowley County in volleyball and track. She went on to receive her undergraduate degree from The University of Kansas and two master's degrees from Baker University. She teaches special education at Olathe West. Ashley lives in Olathe with her husband, Nick, and their two children, Olivia (10 years old) and Noah (9 years old).

Sam Palm

Sam Palm is a ELL social studies teacher at Olathe West. Coach Palm helped open the track program at Olathe West, coaching Shot Put and Discus. He was a coach for 4 years before coming to West.  He is a graduate of Olathe North, University of Kansas where he received a bachelor's degree in history and the University of Avila with a master's degree in curriculum and teaching. Coach Palm also coaches Football and Powerlifting at Olathe West. He resides in Merriam, Kansas, with his wife, Alexandra and his son Wesley.
