FOCUS = Focus on Careers and Unique Skills

  • Mission Statement

    • To prepare students to lead independent, productive, satisfying lives.
    • To encourage self-determination and self-advocacy skills.
    • To collaborate with family, professionals and agencies.
    • To assist students in self-awareness and becoming empowered to ultimately achieve their dreams for their future.
    • To build their individual bridge to independence and prepare them for their next phase of life with concentration on community-based activities and involvement.
    • Connect and contribute to their community.

    Work Experience

Individuals engaged in FOCUS continue to enhance their job skills through a daily vocational experience focusing on job sampling.

These opportunities present themselves through the Alternative Work Experience (AWE), community work environments and working remotely in the building.

    Community Collaboration

Community collaboration allows individuals with unique needs to make community connections while engaging in meaningful activities. These activities vary each semester, although FOCUS strives to provide a community collaboration experience each day.
