Meet Our Board of Education

  • The Olathe Public Schools are served by seven board members representing area positions in three districts plus one at-large position. (view district map, adopted in October 2008, in PDF format) The president for 2020-21 is Joe Beveridge and the vice president is Brian Geary. The board meets at 6 p.m. in the Education Center, 14160 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe. Future meeting dates are Oct. 1, Nov. 5, Dec. 3, Jan. 14, 2021, Feb. 4, March 4, April 1, May 6, and June 3. The 2021-22 organizational meeting will be July 15, 2021.

    Due to the limit of people allowed for an in-person meeting, meetings will be livestreamed. Viewers will be able to watch and listen by visiting our YouTube page.

Joe Beveridge and his wife, Jill, have been residents in the Olathe School District for over 10 years. They have three children attending Olathe schools; one in high school, one in middle school and one in elementary. Joe is an active member of the community and is very involved in the Olathe and Lenexa Chambers of Commerce. Joe is the owner and president of Solid Ground Environmental, LLC, an environmental consulting firm serving clients nationwide.

Brad Boyd and his wife, Myisha, have been residents in the Olathe School District for four years. Brad is an active member of the community and is involved in site council and the School Counseling Advisory Council. He also coaches youth baseball. Brad is a marketing/sales program manager at Sprint. Brad and his wife have four children in Olathe Public Schools, three in elementary and one in middle school.

LeEtta Felter has lived in Olathe since 1994. LeEtta and her husband own several local businesses, as well as farming and ranching at their farm in Ottawa. LeEtta serves on the Kansas Children's Cabinet (governor appointee), the Kansas Schools Mental Health Advisory Council, and the Selective Service Board. The Felter family is very involved in the community. All four of their children attended Olathe Public Schools since kindergarten and are Olathe high school graduates.

Brian Geary is vice president at Bank of Blue Valley in Olathe and active in many civic and community activities, including the Olathe Public Schools Foundation, Olathe Chamber of Commerce, Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, and coaching youth soccer and basketball. Brian and his wife, Heather, moved to Olathe in 1999. Their son, Micah, attends Olathe Public Schools and daughter, Bre, is an Olathe graduate.

Brent McCune is a native of Kansas and a resident of Olathe for the past 25 years. He is owner/president of COBLE MCCUNE Wealth Management, Inc. with more than 30 years of investment management experience. He is actively engaged in many community and regional organizations. Currently, Brent is serving his second term on the Olathe Public Schools Board of Education (president 2017-18 and vice-president 2015-16), ex-officio board member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, and chairman of the Olathe Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board. Past leadership roles include chairman of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the Johnson County Public Policy Council. He and his wife, Jenny, have two daughters, Jessica and Katie, and four grandchildren.

Kristin Schultz has lived in the Olathe School District for more than 20 years. She is a past board member of the Olathe Public Schools Foundation, founding sustaining member of its Women’s Giving Circle and past participant in the Olathe Public Schools Citizen Education Academy. Kristin has two children; one graduated from Olathe North High School and the other graduated from Olathe Northwest High School. Kristin is a development consultant to KCUR public media.

Shannon Wickliffe and his wife, Stefanie, are both graduates of Olathe East High School and have lived in Olathe since 2004. They have two daughters, both graduates from Olathe South High School. Shannon is the chief development officer at KidsTLC and serves on the Olathe Medical Center Board.

    • District 1 is all of the area south of 143rd Street, also including the area between Ridgeview and Pflumm roads north to 135th Street, and also including the area between Cedar Niles Road and Montclaire Drive north to Santa Fe (135th) Street, and excluding an area bordered by Montclaire Drive on the east, Chambery Drive on the west, Cedar Street on the south and Santa Fe Street on the north.
    • District 2 is the area east of Ridgeview Road and north of 135th (Santa Fe) Street, also including the area east of Pflumm Road and south of 135th Street.
    • District 3 is all of the area west of Ridgeview Road and north of Santa Fe (135th) Street, and also including the area between Ridgeview and Montclaire Drive south of 143rd Street, and also including an area bordered by Montclaire Drive on the east, Chambery Drive on the west, Cedar Street on the south, and Santa Fe Street on the north.
